When China Mobile launched the 4G services in capital cities, overlay was assigned to re-design their retail experience.
The main innovation brought to the store is an App Bar where customers can try and purchase Apps relevant to their lifestyle. We also strongly highlighted the 4G novelties in the entrance of the store with special lighting installations. Then to clarify the products offer in the store, we decided to classify the areas by functions and brands.
Finally, big design emphasis has been put on the table shape to try creating an iconic element easily recognizable in the long term as “China Mobile” tables, either in store or small counters configuration.
The 3 first pilot stores are being launched as performance testers to maximize their efficiency before being rolled-out to the 20 000 stores of the Shandong province.
